Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Stocklake Park Secondary School is a special school which caters for students who have moderate to severe learning difficulties. The school follows a primary model and is designed to meet individual educational needs and develop social and personal skills. The role has arisen due to our rising student numbers and their complex needs and is required for our dining hall where the hot meals for our students are served.
The Vale Federation of Schools is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children which will be reflected throughout recruitment. All posts are subject to pre-employment checks, satisfactory references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check and online health check.
The main duties of this role will be to support students in the school dining hall, feeding where necessary following individual physical and self-care programmes, attending to the personal hygiene needs of students including changing of continence wear and help with toileting if necessary and supporting students on the school playground. Comprehensive training is provided as appropriate to the role and continued professional development of our staff is encouraged.
In order to carry out this role you will enjoy working with students who have special educational needs, have an appreciation of the positive attitudes required to encourage independence in our students together with high expectations and respect towards students, common sense, warmth and a sense of humour. You will also be enthusiastic and caring, trustworthy and reliable, resilient, healthy and committed to working as part of a team. Flexibility and a commitment to training is expected.
