About our School
Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Stocklake Park Secondary School is a special school which caters for students who have moderate to severe learning difficulties. The school follows a primary model and is designed to meet individual educational needs and develop social and personal skills. The role has arisen due to our rising student numbers and their complex needs. This sometimes challenging, but rewarding role, will include supporting students with special educational needs to access learning. Working in the classroom or outside the main teaching area, you will assist with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans, encouraging interaction with others and promoting self-esteem. Other duties may include attending to personal hygiene needs and administering medications. Comprehensive training will be provided as appropriate and continued professional development of our staff is encouraged.
To carry out this role you will enjoy working with students who have special educational needs. You will have an appreciation of the positive attitudes required to encourage independence together with high expectations and respect towards the students. Other key attributes that our ideal candidate will have include enthusiasm, resilience and a caring & trustworthy nature. Flexibility and commitment to training is expected.
