Post required to start as soon as possible for the Summer Term in the first instance

To cover short and medium term staff absences we are looking to recruit a number of casual LSA’s.  Successful applicants will form a bank of staff that we can call upon during the busy Summer term initially. Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Booker Park School is primary special school which caters for children from Nursery to Y6 who have a wide range of special educational needs.  Due to rising pupil numbers and the complex needs of our pupils we are looking for people who are:

  • enthusiastic and caring and who will enjoy working with pupils with special educational needs
  • trustworthy and reliable
  • resilient, healthy and with a suitable level of physical ability
  • committed to working as a part of a team
  • flexible with regard to working at short notice

This rewarding, and sometimes challenging role, will include supporting pupils to access and engage with teacher led curriculum/learning activities, encouraging pupils to interact with others and helping to promote their self-esteem, assisting with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans and personal care programmes, attending to pupils personal hygiene needs where necessary.

The right person for this role will have an appreciation of the positive attitudes required to encourage independence in our pupils, high expectations and respect towards pupils, common sense, warmth, and a sense of humour.
