Year 6 Residential
18 children from across the school recently went on their Year 6 residential trip to Woodrow High House. It was an amazing opportunity for the children to try different and new things, and they truly ‘lived’ our values of trust, determination, excellence, courage, respect, kindness, friendship and equity. Children who had never previously had the opportunity to spend much time with each other formed new friendships. The children worked hard to support each other, all tried new activities no matter how scary they looked and there were some ‘firsts’ with pupils eating things they’ve never eaten before and most significantly, staying away from the family for the first time. 11 members of staff volunteered to support the children; it can’t be expressed enough how generous it is that they give up so much of their time, not just over the two days but in the run up to the trip also. Next year’s trip is already booked!
